How many children can I have in a home daycare in canada without being licensed?
I am opening a home daycare in canada. I looked it up online but I could’nt find an answer. I am accepting 6 children in the daycare and there are two employees. So a ratio of 1/3.

In Alberta, you MUST have a license in order to run a daycare. Your employees need to meet some standard (First Aid and other courses completed) AND your home will need to be inspected and fit all criterias for a daycare. If you get past all of that, I believe you are allowed up to 4 children for 1 certified employee and none of the children can be less than 3 years old. It’s pretty rigid in Canada.
In the USA you would be arrested. Two is the limit
