Because he has not liberated Ireland yet. It is still separated between north & south. Anyway it has Absolutely nothing to do with religion, you of all people should know that. Please research Irish political history. If you don’t know who is fighting for what & why. Then you are not in a position to comment on it. This is R&S please try the politics section.
I wouldn’t brand him a terrorist, but I would strongly associate SF with the IRA . I can’t speak for their politicians in NI, but here in the Republic many of them refuse to condemn acts of violence committed by the IRA. (such as the soldiers and the CATHOLIC PSNI officer who were shot dead earlier this year)
As a political party, they’re a joke.
Yeah, well, he hasn’t liberated them or united Ireland yet. And Sinn Fein, while legitimate, has a long history of ties to the provisional I.R.A.
Don’t get me wrong, I think the U.K. has no buisness in Ireland. I just wish most of the Irish would grow up and stop fighting over which sect of a ridiculous zombie god they belong to.

Cuz’ he’s a rebel, all the rebels are "terrorist" or "crazy people"… but only upon the day when they win or lose.
If they Win, they are Heroes, like Nelson Mandela, or George Washington.
If they lose they are Terrorist, like Lennin or Hitler (well… Hitler WAS crazy).
And if they lose, but the cause win, they are heroes too, like… Jesus, or "el Ché Guevara" (kindda’ win).

Unfortunately, the media nowaday often distorts truth and are too influenced by the politics. No doubt in the future people’ll have different view of him.
I’m telling you if they elected you Prime Minister with your good looks you’d bring the whole country together in one shot.
A big part why Mandela is a hero, is because he spent 40 years being imprisoned. So to reach that kind of status you need to truly suffer like he did.
After all Bobby Sands is a hero, right?
