@SHOOTINMUTANT Lucky, America is surrounded by Canada and Mexico and do you think either of them are going to go to war with the US? Beside lets not forget what the white European settlers did to the Natives in your country.
We sang this for a choir concert to raise money for Haiti and there wasn’t a dry eye in the whole building. As we were singing we all were crying. But it turned out beautiful.
This is an extremely powerful song. It makes me think ” what did the U.S. do to become slthis safe?”. Although it isn’t perfect, what did we do other countries didn’t try? Or were we just lucky?
there is another kind of controversial group dedicated to world peace which is growing very rapidly visit my page and click the website link on the left hand side.
I did this in michigan for a vocal arts thing.. i did it with the Director from U of M, and his Glee Club. it was amazing! But i love this video. Kudos to the guy that made this. You are a kind caring guy.
yeah, we are singing this in my choir now and it is one of the saddest songs i’ve ever heard. I can barely sing it cause it be’ing so true…. good vid though.
I mis-spoke. When I said protect my country, I speak for all of the countries that experience deprevation of love and many other things. I’m only a lower classman in my highschool and I already plan to go into the Marines to help and protect the unprotected. I feel so lucky to spend time with my family, knowing that many others don’t even have a family. I feel that it is my duty and obligation to fight back all the hatred and protect the weak. Think next time when you pick on a helpless kid
My chamber group in my school called VOX, an honorary men’s singing group, are doing this song for contest and concert. When I sing this song it makes me almost cry. I know for a fact that I am forever moved by this song. A few years ago they did this with a slideshow showing pictures like this. I cried so badly. I feel so honored to sing this song for my school, community, and my town. I know that when the time comes for me to protect my country, I will step up and fight back for peace.
We sang this song in my choir either my sophomore or junior year of high school. And we had female parts too, but either way it is still a very powerful and moving song. It almost had me to tears every time. It’s one of the most amazing pieces I’ve ever heard.
if you really are about these kids (i dont doubt u do), why not do something more than just prayer? As movine as the acapella singing in the background may be… it doesnt take action in regards to the issue. It could be said that all this does is bring you comfort that god will intervene, making it more possible for nothing to actually happen.
I’m 13 years old, there isn’t much more I can do but raise awareness as much as I can. By the way, if I’m so much of a self-centered person that I don’t do anything, and I don’t give anything for what I believe in most, why are we having this conversation? Think hard about your next reply. I’ve seen this arrogance before, personally.
Look, I don’t have any issues with people, apparently including you, that served or serve in other countries for the sake of America’s well-being. I’m grateful for that. My only issue is that we could be doing something about Darfur and other places. More than protect ourselves. To both of you, hartomon and eternalPSYOP, we need to include everyone in America. We are a country, no? And don’t attack me, and I won’t attack you.
We are singing this song in chorus and everytime we do I cry. Abuse has been a big thing in my life and even when I look back at it I think of how much worse it could have been I am always inspired by this song and the vider owas beautifly made. 5stars
I myself have gone to Iraq, Jordan soon to afghanistan. I’ve also taken part of other unmentionable things to help other nations improve their own conditions. This country/government is not perfect but I promise you, there is a reason why citizens of other nations flock to it. If you can’t put those reasons together then you should visit other nations more often. See what they do for themselves and pair that against what we do for them. Think hard about your next reply. I’ve seen it personally.
this song reminds me of when i was visiting egypt. me and my family saw this little boy getting beaten by the egyptian soldiers for stealing a loaf of bread. he was really skinny and i could tell he was hungry. we walked away cuz we didnt want to see any more. and when we got about 100 yards away, we heard a gunshot from the direction of the little boy…. brings me to tears every time i think about it
you should put everybody in amarica into one group. Everybodys diffrent and thinks diffrent not even the goverment shows what amaricas all about… but have you done anything to try and stop this yourself? Nothing ever starts untill one persons strong enough to give up everything for the thing they belive in most… think about martin luther, and Ghandi…
I’m sorry eternalPSYOP, but our country has failed the UN too many times for MY liking. I don’t say any of this to attack you, I’m merely stating my opinion. I don’t even deny that I could do more myself. I’m sorry for any uncomfortableness I caused.
