What emotion are children experiencing when about to get a shot at the doctor's office?

Children often cry during, and many times before, they get a shot at the doctor’s office. Since the needle hasn’t touched them yet before the shot, what is the emotion that causes them to cry before they get the shot?

  1. Fear of course……..weren’t you ever a kid ?

  2. My guess would be fear… did you really need to ask this question?

  3. Fear of the unknown.

  4. Fear definately and there is usually a long wait for getting the shot so alot of anxiety builds up. Best thing for them to do is just not look at the needle. It’s intense minutes of anxiety for 5 seconds of a mild sting.

  5. Most commonly its fear, but not of just the needle itself, but also of the stranger who is putting it in them.
Not saying the child would react any better if he/she knew the doctor, but im guessing its a factor

    Hope this helped
    :)

  6. Fear.

  7. Fear and being scared that it will hurt.!

  8. Their Afraid of the needle so they don’t want it to touch them so they cry SO if you want them not to cry ..tell that you’ll give them a balloon or anything they love ..if they don’t cry! :) it works!
