What is the best children's book to give an expecting mother?

I am invited to a baby shower where you give a children’s book instead of a card. (she is a literature teacher) She is having twins and I would like to get two different books but there are so many that I would like a few suggestions please. Thank you very much for any help.

  1. There are just so many! "Are You My Mother" , "The Owl and the Pussycat", "Goodnight Moon".

  2. Love You Forever by Robert Munsch is my favorite.
Oh, The Places You’ll Go! by Dr. Seuss is another classic.

  3. Goodnight Moon….I still read it to my daughters.

  4. yea love you forever was what my daughter got, also there captain poopy pants or something.

  5. "Love you Forever" by Robert Munsch is a great story and of course, "Goodnight Moon" is a must have.

  6. I don’t think you need to get two, but I love the Velveteen Rabbit story book (the large one with all the stories). It’s an absolute classic!

  7. Love You Forever is great.

  8. The books above are great. Is this her first child? I really benefited from the "What to expect" books. Obviously it’s a little late for "What to expect when you’re expecting" but there’s more to the series. She’s just right for "What to expect the first year".

Other great additions to any child’s library are – Mama do you Love Me?; If you Give a Mouse a Cookie; the David books and one of my kids’ favorites has always been "Courage" by Bernard Waber.

Bookends are another nice gift. It’s unique, yet it keeps with the theme of the shower.
